About Roger Miller

Roger Dean Miller, Sr. was born on January 2, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas. He died on October, 25, 1992 at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer.

Roger was a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor. He played the guitar, drums, and fiddle.

He once famously stated:

The human mind is a wonderful thing, it starts working from before you’re born and doesn’t stop till you sit down to write a song.

Roger released 20 albums and had three #1 singles. He’s the recipient of several words:

1 Tony Award
1973: Inducted into Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame
1988: Academy of Country Music – Pioneer Award
1995: Country Music Hall Of Fame

In 2004, he had a [museum] dedicated to him located on Route 66 in Erick, Oklahoma, the town he grew up in.
